Sober, A1, Fishr Pryce, NVS and Rev To Face Off For Title of Dallas' Top DJ at It'll Do.

Soon as the calendar turns, you can expect to be hearing a whole lot out of Red Bull around these parts, especially as pertains to the energy drink and lifestyle brand's international Thre3Style competition, which pits DJs from around the world against one another in various regional bouts until one DJ is crowned champion above all others.

And, hey, before you balk, know this: This is hardly just another corporate attempt at being cool; this year, the Red Bull folks are kind of going all out on this year's affair, starting with its first sub-regional competition at 9 p.m. on Friday, January 18, at the It'll Do club.

They've certainly accumulated an impressive roster for the party. Adored area producer and emcee Picnictyme will host the event, which will this year feature some of Dallas' heaviest hitting DJs throwing their hat into the competitive ring. DJs Sober, A1, Fishr Pryce (returning as last year's reigning Dallas champion), NVS and Rev will all be participating in this year's kickoff event, offering up genre-jumping, 15 minute sets for the crowds and a panel of judges, in hopes of landing a spot in the following regional competition, which will pit DJs from across Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico here in town in February.

More details on that second area Thre3style affair as they come, but, like I said, I think it's safe to say we'll be hearing a lot about this event in the coming weeks — especially if the rumors we're hearing about the potential celebrity judges for the February regional competition (think big) come to fruition.

And, hey, if nothing else, then just consider this an opportunity to get your dance on. It's certainly not a bad excuse, considering that the DJs involved are all among the region's best.
