Lights All Night Expands To El Paso, Branches Out Of EDM With Dallas Headliner Announcement.

Seems there’s no slowing down the biggest and baddest festival in Dallas: After moving out of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center last year to take up residence in Dallas Market Hall, the EDM-centric Lights All Night has now announced that it will not only just be returning to that same space as it helps Dallas ring in New Year’s Eve for the seventh year running, but that it will also be doing so in El Paso.

The move to add an El Paso element — one that will go down at the El Paso Convention Center — follows Lights All Night’s earlier attempts to expand to Mexico City in 2013. Unlike that one-off effort, which came a few days after the Dallas event, this move will find event organizers Highland Concerts running simultaneous events in the two markets on December 30 and 31, and sharing some headliners along the way. Per this Billboard piece, the move also points toward Lights All Night and Highland foraying into other markets in future years.

When? Where? How? We don’t know!

We do know this, though: This morning, Lights All Night announced its first round of 2016-into-2017 performers. Headlining both events on alternating nights will be Deadmau5 (making his first Dallas appearance since LAN 2013) and RL Grime. Joining those two on the Dallas bill will be Above & Beyond, Zedd, Nero and, interestingly, the rapper A$AP Ferg, who represents one of the festival’s first non-DJ and non-EDM performers booked since its earliest years.

Is A$AP Ferg’s booking a sign that LAN could be taking some cues from the rap-and-EDM-merging JMBLYA? Maybe! That much, we imagine, will shake out as more performers are announced for the still more than six months off event.

In the meantime, tickets for the Dallas event are on sale right now at this link, starting at $99.99 for a two-day general admission pass. If previous patterns hold, that cost will rise as more names are added. (El Paso tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. on Friday right here.)

Not sure if you’re ready to take that plunge just yet? Perhaps our LAN 2015 recap video posted below will tip the scales for you one way or another by cluing you into the spectacle that awaits.
