We're Helping To Bring Rakim To Town For A Gig at Dada on September 18.
We've had a hand in bringing a whole bunch of noteworthy rappers to town over these last couple of years — a list that includes such names as RiFF RAFF, Lil B, Nipsey Hussle, Le1f, Curren$y, Migos, Black Milk and, in just a couple of weeks here, Soulja Boy. As for bona fide rap legends, though? Well, no offensive meant to the aforementioned, but we've yet to involve ourselves in a show involving one of those.
Till now, of course: We're teaming up with our pals at Too Fresh Productions to bring Rakim — easily one of the rap game's most iconic emcees of all-time — to Club Dada on Thursday, September 18.
As part of the Eric B. & Rakim twosome, the man born William Michael Griffin Jr., is the voice behind such undisputed late-'80s hip-hop classics “Paid In Full,” “Don't Sweat The Technique” and “I Know You Got Soul” — songs that helped push rap into the mainstream consciousness thanks to their infectious rhymes and undeniable sample-based aesthetics. That group broke up before its time in 1993, but Rakim, much to his credit, never slowed down, releasing three acclaimed solo album of his own since 1997, the most recent being 2009's The Seventh Seal.
At this show, however, the legend will hardly be on his own. Instead, he'll be joined on the bill by local acts -topic (and his Team From Nowhere crew), Buffalo Black and ThatKidCam, plus Grey Matter and Wild Bill. Also? DJs Spinderella, Jay Clipp and A1.

Tickets to the show will run $20 in advance (get 'em right here) or $25 at the door on the day of show.
Oh, and let us know you're coming here, too.
Then plan to come kick with us on September 18. We'll see you there.
