Get Your $20 Elm Street Tattoo Now Or Risk Waiting Another 14 Months.
Traditionally, Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. Not so, though, for tattoo lovers in Dallas.
Since the clock struck midnight, the folks over at Elm Street Tattoo have been doing their regular Friday the 13th, 24-hour marathon tattoo thing in which anyone can walk in, sign up, wait for possibly a few hours and then get any kind of number 13 tattooed anywhere on their body for the affordable cost of $13 and a $7 tip.
Moments ago, when we stopped in to see how things were going at the shop, the place was filled — workdays be damned — with tatted-up people picking which famous 13 they wanted inked onto their bodies from the chart on the wall.
All seemed to be gong smoothly, even if, at the moment, the tattooers are some 17 hours into their 24-hour marathon session. Were that not reason alone for them to be worn out, perhaps this is: Today marks the third Friday the 13th of the year.
The good news is that the Elm Street Tattoo crew has a long break heading their way. The next Friday the 13th won't come until September 2013.
Meaning? Well, if this is something you have been thinking about doing, you'd better head Elm Street's way before things get too crowded as the night wears on.
As of this posting, the wait time for a tattoo is just 30 minutes.
Miss your chance today and your wait time will be, oh, a mere 14 months.
