PREMIERE: Check Out Blue, The Misfit's New Video For No Care In The World.
We've said it before — a few times, actually — and, surely, we'll say it again: Blue, The Misfit is a talented dude.
And, for the most part, he comes off as a pretty serious one, too. Or so goes the image that the rapper and producer tends to put out to the public. Take, for instance, Blue's impressive, May-released debut LP that holds that song, is an album that demands to be taken seriously.
Talk to the guy when he's not posing for the camera, though, and it's clear that he's more than just a collection of scowls and grimaces. And it seems his newest music video, which comes for the Child In The Wild cut “No Care In The World,” seems specifically designed to make sure that audiences are well aware of this fact.
Shot over the course of almost an entire year — starting on July 4, 2103, and running through this past March's South by Southwest affair — the Shane McCormick-directed clip is, as Blue describes it, “a lot of random footage of us hanging out and having a good time.” Throughout the video, Blue and his pals in Brain Gang can be seen meandering about various area spots, their humorous conversations sometimes permeating the music. Aside from some eye-catching illustrated embellishments — “One day, [McCormick] was bored and he said he tried a little illustration out,” Blue says — that's all there is to it.
But it works. It's the kind of clip that makes you wish you were friends with Blue and his pals and invited along for the ride.
“That's exactly what we were going for,” Blue says. “It's a little more playful. And I thought it was perfect for the song we chose because it explains that to a T.”
Check it out the below, which Blue has passed along our way to share as an exclusive premiere. Perfect timing, too: The track and video alike work as mighty fine weekend entry points.
