Exclusive Premiere: Check Out Son Of Stan's New Music Video.
It's perhaps no secret that everything released by Son of Stan exists in a sort of the same universe, tied together by some loose-yet-still-pretty-mysterious, multi-time/multi-dimensional storylines.
It's the entire backbone of the WizardVizion label universe behind Son of Stan and its many collaborators, really.
Between the used car salesman vibe of his “Noxeema” video and the aerobics video bent of “Loseyomind”, though, deciphering exactly what that story is can be a bit tricky. But with each new release — hypothetically, anyway — the bigger picture should become a bit clearer.
Which brings us to the band's latest clip.
Recently, the story goes that Son of Stan main man Jordan Richardson found something interesting on an old TurboGrafx 16 cartridge buried among the used paperbacks and cookware at McCart Thrift — a “long-forgotten gem of a game,” he says, that turned out to be the inspiration for the new video for his Georgia single, “The Lady That's Around Me.”
It's hard to tell exactly how this '90s videogame fits in with the rest of those aforementioned WizardVizion storylines — but, if we're not mistaken, the teddy bear from the “Loseyomind” clip can be seen towards the begging of the video. And is it also possible that the weird alien kid from the end of “Noxeema” grew up to be some sort of evil space fighter?
Time will tell, we suppose. In any case, it lends itself well for an easy “all your base are belong to us” joke. So check out the new video for “The Lady That’s Around Me,” directed by the singularly-named Bez, in its exclusive premiere below.
