Scenes From Last Night's Stones Throw Records Showcase At Crown And Harp.
Earlier this week, we premiered the first episode of our new Burning Bridges podcast with host Rodney Blu.
On that inaugural cast, Rodney sat down with Moody Fuqua, general manager of the Crown and Harp and a guy who's been instrumental building quite the eclectic and supportive little scene over there. It's an interesting listen to hear the two discuss that turnaround since Fuqua's taken over booking duties at the bar in recent years, as well as the diverse programming he's helped attract to the intimate Lower Greenville bar.
One of the shows that talk touched on was last night's Stones Throw Records show, which saw label head Peanut Butter Wolf turning in a DJ set, signees Guilty Simpson and Homeboy Sandman jumping on the mic before that, and locals Def Rain and -topic warming things up. Those performances were also preceded by a meet and greet and screening of Stones Throw documentary Our Vinyl Weighs a Ton over at Deep Ellum streetwear shop Epocha.
Needless to say, by the time the headliners finally took the stage, Dallas devotees were primed and ready. This photo set from Karlo X. Ramos is evidence of that much.
