It’s Just Banter.
If you’re a listener of KTCK 1310-AM or 96.7-FM, you probably feel like you already know TC Fleming and Jake Kemp well. And if you’re not a listener of The Ticket? Well, whatever. You’re about to get real familiar with these two just the same through their own channel of this podcast called It’s Just Banter. Wanna hear past episodes? When is it OK to publish the name of someone who sent you a private email? This is a minor question dealt with in this week’s podcast. In fact, the first half of this week’s episode is filled with such queries — including where things might be headed on HBO’s The Night Of and why certain gyms feel like porn sets.
The second half is where things really come into focus this week as Jake and I get to the bottom of a pretty fascinating question: What’s it like to be blind?
Helping us figure this out is our friend Josh, who lost his sight in his 20s. His is an incredibly interesting journey, and he kindly shares it with us here. First off, he talks about when he began suspecting seriously that his sight was going. Later, he shares some of the insights that losing one of his five main senses has given him. Finally, he details some pretty sweet life hacks for how to set up your disability insurance if you’re so inclined.
There’s a lot to learn here. — TC Fleming
