On Hulk Hogan's Win Over Gawker, Americans In North Korea and Comments Left On Porn Clips.
If you're a listener of KTCK 1310-AM or 96.7-FM, you probably feel like you already know TC Fleming and Jake Kemp well. And if you're not a listener of The Ticket? Well, whatever. You're about to get real familiar with these two just the same through their own channel of this podcast called It's Just Banter. Wanna hear past episodes? You can check out IJB's archives here and on our Soundcloud page. Wanna subscribe to the podcast on iTunes? Do so here.
For the second time, Jake and I went down to Austin for a special podcast recorded during South By Southwest. This is the most fun podcast-related thing we do all year, in my opinion, and I hope it shows up in the listening experience. If not, well, just know we had a dope time.
We set up on the patio of Haymaker, a bar east of the UT campus that's about to open up a new location along Lower Greenville in Dallas. We had the patio most of the way full of Banter Davidians, too.
In turn, we treated them first to some talk of the Hulk Hogan-Gawker verdict. The ultimate prize awarded to the Hulkster shocked us. We do still focus on the bandanna a lot.
During this time, we also mention how Jake is making the sacrifice of wearing suspenders to a wedding. Is that as far as he would go? There is some time spent answering that. We don’t focus on anything for very long, though. We go back and forth on a lot of things, including the Virginia student who got sentenced to 15 years hard labor in North Korea.
In the second half, we read some comments left on porn videos. Do you listeners deem this sort of vulgarity a bridge too far? That's within your rights, but you'd probably have more fun in life if you just let loose and laughed at some of the filth people put on the internet. — TC Fleming
