Sundown at Granada To Host Free Nightly Concerts.
Last week, the Dallas Morning News dropped something of a bomb, announcing that Mike Schoder, owner of the Granada Theater and the gone-but-not-forgotten CD World record stores, was setting up to open a new live music venue on Greenville Avenue.
Only, well, it that's not entirely the case. Turns out Schoder won't be opening up any new spots — not as far as we're aware, at least. He and his team's hands are plenty full these days as is between the Granada Theater and its January-opened, next-door restaurant-cum-beer garden, Sundown at Granada.
He will, however, be opening up the Sundown space for some live music shows by adding a stage to the dining room space, which can fit some or so 250 people. Good idea, right?
For now, the new — and more importantly, completely free to attend — shows will take place every night, although, for now, the space only appears to have been book Thursday through Sunday nights, as well as on Tuesdays. The whole thing will kick off on Thursday, October 25, with Boys Named Sue. Also of note: For the foreseeable future, rocker Phil Pritchett will perform every Tuesday night and Western noir rockers Whiskey Folk Ramblers will perform every Sunday night.
