Bud Light Billboards Across Dallas-Fort Worth Ask People To Flip A Coin On Deep Ellum and Uptown.

For well over a month at this point, we've heard tell of billboards posted across the region — some at least as far away as Fort Worth — that supposedly pit Dallas entertainment districts Deep Ellum and Uptown against one another in a decisive coin flip match. Read these mythical beasts: “Heads: Uptown. Tails: Deep Ellum.”

Last night, we finally spotted one out in the wild for ourselves, right along the east side of the southbound I-35E track, near the Regal Row exit and just after the State Highway 183 interchange:

The ad comes as part of the beer company's ongoing “Heads of Tails?” campaign for the NFL season, although this particular iteration is devoid of football concerns.

More interesting is just that it exists at all. Deep Ellum and Uptown are natural rivals in the eyes of locals, but a campaign such as this from an international company — even a local-placating one along these lines — somehow feels like the punctuation at the end of a sentence, right?

Y'know, like if you somehow still didn't believe that Deep Ellum has long since awoken from its years-long slumber
