South By So What?! and Spillover Continue Adding To Their Already Big Bills.

Over the years, South By South West has provided Dallas with enough spillover acts to start several post-SXSW festivals of its own.

And with their latest batch of confirmed acts, two of the city's biggest such events, Third String Productions' South By So What?! and Parade of Flesh's newly re-named Spillover, have racked up nearly 100 bands between them.

Astonishingly, both events' sites mention they will be announcing more names soon.

Because ticket prices are relatively cheap for these bashes — South By So What has booked nearly 80 bands for $45 and Spillover is sticking with its traditional $20 for 20 bands model — and because the shows are being held on the 16th and 17th, respectively, it's more than reasonable to start thinking about skipping SXSW this year and to start carving out a long festival weekend here in town.

Full lists of confirms for both fests follow below. Notable additions to Spillover's lineup include The Coathangers, Ducktails, Parenthetical Girls, Parquet Courts and Young Widows. South By So What, meanwhile, just added roughly 50 new names, including Cisco Adler, Forever the Sickest Kids and The Virgin Wolves, among others.
