Legendary Chicago Deep Dish Pizzeria Gino's East Is Coming To Dallas.
First thing's first: Deep dish pizza is barely even pizza. It's more like an actual pie, maybe even a casserole.
And, as everyone knows, it's up in Chicago where they're most legit. They take pride in it up there to the point where — much like us and our barbecue — they have long, drawn-out conversations about who does it best, who did it first, and so on. Opinions in those talks are rarely swayed, but it seems most people can agree on this much: The deep dish pies from the iconic Gino's East brand are among the tops and, certainly, among the most classic.
So this is exciting news then: Eater reports that Gino's East, thanks to a recent partnership with the Texas-based group behind the Bikini's breastaurant chain, is on its way to Texas.
And, yes, that includes a new joint in North Texas.
Or so this hiring notice — in which Gino's East announces that it's seeking general managers for a planned location in Arlington, as well as for new spots in Austin, San Antonio and Houston (or, rather, The Woodlands) — certainly indicates. No word yet on an opening date or an exact location, though.
Still: Exciting news! Also: Apologies in advance to any of our lactose-intolerant readers.
