Scenes From Shaun Martin's Go-Go Party at the Prophet Bar.
Yesterday in this space, we talked lovingly about the Prophet Bar's weekly Wednesday night jam sessions, while at the same time noting that last night's affair — a Go-Go party held in celebration of acclaimed area keyboardist Shaun Martin's birthday — was going to be something a little different, but no less special.
The event indeed lived up to the hype, too, as Martin and his Go-Go band rattled off an over hour-long set of high-energy Go-Go-inflected covers to a room full of eager, all-too-ready-to-dance fans.
It was a good time. If you weren't there, you should've been.
Good news, though, if that's your case: Martin and his Go-Go band will perform again on Sunday, September 2, at Sandaga 813 in Expo Park.
