Prized Plano West Running Back Soso Jamabo Is An All-American Troll, Says He Might Attend ITT Tech.
Plano West Senior High School running back Soso Jamabo is obviously a gifted football player — he's currently ranked by Rivals as the No,. 1 running back in Texas, the No. 4 running back in the country and the No. 22 top recruit in the nation regardless of position — but, turns out, he might be an even better troll.
While appearing with a number of other prized high school recruits from the area on WFAA's High School Sports Special on Sunday, Jamabo, who reportedly has scholarship offers to play at Baylor, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA as a college freshman next season but has yet to commit to any of them, the high school senior was asked which schools he might be leaning toward heading into National Signing Day on February 4.
Like Marshawn Lynch before him, dutifully answered the question — although not quite in the way WFAA might have wanted.
Lest the above Vine doesn't make it clear, Jamabo says he's currently choosing between for-profit higher learning institutes University of Phoenix and ITT Technical Institute for the next chapter in his life. To be clear: Despite the University of Phoenix paying good money to throw its name on the Arizona stadium where the Super Bowl will be played this coming weekend, neither of these location-less colleges boasts a football team.
All the same, Jamabo — called “HS football's happiest running back” by the Dallas Morning News just this past fall — is committed to his troll, extending it to social media as well as local TV outlets. Yesterday, he posted the following image to his account.

It's tough to say if Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas and Notre Dame find the humor in this, but, credit where it's due, at least the University of Phoenix does.
.@SportsCenter whatever happens, we always have a space for @Soso_Jamabo1. We love our students+athletes #SuperPhoenix— UniversityofPhoenix (@UOPX) January 27, 2015
Awesome. Or, wait. Is that a violation of NCAA recruiting rules? Who knows.
