Dallas Museum of Art Makes Admission, Membership Free.

Big news out of the Dallas Museum of Art today: Starting January 21, the museum will stop charging general admission fees to enter the museum and will launch a new program called DMA Friends through which people can sign up for free memberships and use social media outlets to earn points to be put toward rewards from the museum.

Larger scale exhibits will still cost some money to attend, but entrance most exhibits, the museum announced via a press release today, will be free.

It's a fairly landmark move, to be sure, what with the museum opening its door so blatantly to the public while also so willfully embracing the changing social media landscape.
