Index Books Andrew Bird, Real Estate, Devotchka and More For Its Second Go.
Between their Untapped, Index and Fort Worth Music Festival responsibilities, local booking agency Spune Productions seems to have the local fest-booking game very much on lock these days. And, as teased yesterday, Spune and KXT have now announced the preliminary details for their second annual Index Fest.
Included among the bits of info in that announcement are the fest's initial crop of performers, which will include Andrew Bird, Sarah Jaffe, Real Estate, Devotchka, P.O.S., Jason Isbell, The Boxer Rebellion. Also? The two-day festival taking place on October 18 and 19 will be an even bigger affair than their inaugural offering: Unlike last year's fest, which saw roughly 30 bands performing on three stages, Index will this year expand to 60 bands and seven stages across Trees, Dada, Three Links, Prophet Bar and some pop-up nearby outdoor stages.
While the acts confirmed so far might not necessarily command the $58 price of a two-day ticket, we should point out that some of the best performers — such as GZA, whose performance wasn't announced until about a month before the fest — weren't announced until much closer to the show's date.
Tickets to Index Festival are available right now here for KXT members, and will be made available to the general public starting Wednesday, July 24.
