Every day until the State Fair of Texas closes on October 21, we're sharing with you the skinny on one of the many worthwhile food items being served up.
Day 2: Deep Fried Jambalaya.
Guaranteed to be among the most sought-after foods at the fairgrounds this year, this guy won the Best Taste honors at the 2012 Big Tex Choice Awards.
What is it? Made-from-scratch jambalaya consisting of shrimp, Cajun sausage and seasonings, lightly floured and then fried to perfection. It's served with a side homemade of spicy ranch.
Where you can find it? You can get this delight at two different locations. The easiest to get to is directly behind the Cotton Bowl, near the Embarcadero Building.
How much does it cost? Eight tickets (the equivalent of $4).
