35 Denton Adds Eyehategod, Akron/Family, Marnie Stern, More.
Well, this much is clear as we get nearer and nearer to the 2013 offering from our friends up at 35 Denton: Mainstream, this year's event ain't.
Moments ago, the folks behind the festival dropped the below video, which brings with it the festival's third round of announcements for its 2013 affair — a list that includes, most notably, freak folk act Akron/Family, guitar heroine Marnie Stern, psych weirdos Prince Rama, singer-songwriters Scott H. Biram and Ralph White, and New Orleans-based metal icons Eyehategod.
Those are some interesting names to be sure, but, as compared to past affairs, which featured such well-known names as The Flaming Lips, Bun B, Big Boi, Mavis Staples, Dr. Dog and the like, this year's offering seems more along the trust-us-you'll-dig-it lines.
And, well, trust in 35 we do. I mean, five successful years in, you've got to, right?
Plus, they've still got another month to book Lady Gaga or something.
