Another Food Truck Rally, Another Massive Turnout. And This Time It Was Deep Ellum's Turn.
Dallas' food truck frenzy continued this weekend with yet another gathering of trucks — this time along Main Street in Deep Ellum, which was still buzzing from the Deep Ellum Arts Fest the weekend prior.
Perhaps that helps explain the massive turnout at this event, which, in addition to a plethora of trucks, featured live music from the likes of Hares on the Mountain and The Roomsounds. Hundreds showed up for the event, which kicked off at 6 p.m. on Friday and was scheduled to run until 10 p.m. or when the trucks ran out of food, whichever came first.
For a few trucks, that running-out-of-food bit indeed arrived earlier than expected; the Three Lions truck came up empty on the ingredients front before 8 o'clock even rolled around. No surprise there: In the hour-plus we spent onsite, each truck featured a line at least 20 people deep, with some — namely The Bacon Wagon — featuring lines that seemed to stretch on forever.
