Heads Up, Denton: Bet The House BBQ Is Bringing Affordable Barbecue Your Way.

Denton: Meat your favorite new restaurant.

Back in May, pals Cody Smithers and Shawn Eagle lit up a Kickstarter in hopes of raising $5,000 to assist with the opening of their dream barbecue joint, Bet The House. And 21 days, 103 backers and $5,780 dollars later, they got the money they needed to get all the essentials to make it a delicious and successful place to eat.

Earlier this week, less than a month after that successful fundraising effort, the team hosted a soft opening to test the waters at its new just-off-the-Dquare home and — yup — they ran out of barbecue within a few hours.

Using mostly local and 100 percent black Angus brisket from North Texas ranches when possible, these guys are clearly passionate about serving the best meats around. It also kicks ass that the cost to eat for one person is less than $12.

So, yeah, put us down for seconds.

And sooner than later, too: On Saturday, June 14th at 11 a.m., Bet The House Make will open its doors to the public. Be sure to line up early, too, as it’s sure to get crowded fast. Then, when things settle a little, expect Bet the House to be open from Wednesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
