Scenes From The Animal Collective and Micachu & The Shapes Show at the House of Blues.

Animal Collective brought out a decent-sized crowd to the House of Blues last night. Oh, and to be clear: By decent, I mean that sucker was packed. It was kind of nuts, actually.

Even before Animal Collective hit the stage, you just knew it was going to be a good night. For starters, everyone was already dancing. Micachu & the Shapes made sure of that much, sending out their spunky sounds to an adoring crowd that cheered out their appreciation for the band's every move.

Still, the crowd was ready for the main course. And, appropriately enough, the stage was set up for it: The whole thing was dressed up to look like a mouth, with giant teeth framing the stage. And, with their first song, Animal Collective immediately met the standards of any fan in the place. In all actuality, though, it would've been tough for them to disappoint. The crowd was just so excited to be there. By the second song, the whole room looked and felt like a giant dance pit.

In their defense, Animal Colletive's performance was deserving of all this adoration. Their lights, sound and on-stage energy all synced up in perfect combination. It was fun, lively and a little quirky.

It was one hell of a show.
