Catch The World Premiere of The Zombie Christ Tonight at the Texas Theatre.

Sure, World War Z looks cool and all, but if you prefer your zombie flicks more like they were back in the day — lo-fi, tongue in cheek and unafraid to touch on some religious overtones and philosphies — you need look no further than tonight's Texas Theatre screening of the Denton-produced The Zombie Christ.

The film tells the story of what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real Jesus comes back to life to rectify the world of its wrongs after the onset of the zombie apocalypse.

Even better? Tonight's screening also serves as the world premiere of the four-years-in-the-making flick from the collective known as Perspiring Filmmakers. As such, the filmmakers will be on-hand, sharing behind-the-scenes featurettes, selling merch and participating in a Q&A session with our own resident film buff, James Wallace.

The whole thing kicks off at 7 o'clock and costs $5 to attend. After, you can stick around for the Texas' regularly scheduled programming of its Tuesday Night Trash weekly, which this week sticks to the theme put forth by The Zombie Christ and showcases George A. Romero's O.G., 1968-released zombie classic, Night of the Living Dead.
