A Sit-Down With Josh Kumler of Bar Politics.

Welcome to Burning Bridges, a biweekly Central Track podcast wherein local commentator Rodney Blu waxes poetic on the day's most pressing issues and interviews prominent players in the arts scene, all over a guest mix from a roster of several local selectors. It's fast, it's fresh and it's polarizing. Check out past episodes here. Subscribe on iTunes here.

On this week's installment of Burning Bridges with Rodney Blu, I invite local rising star Josh Kumler into the hot seat to discuss what multiple Dallas publications have already dubbed “Dallas' Daily Show.” Kumler is the creator and host of Bar Politics, a free monthly public engagement hosted at various bars in and around Dallas that's been widely celebrated as of late. Rightly so, too: His means of infusing local political shenanigans with theatrics that range from gut-busting to introspective and even a little weird sometimes — it's amassed a sizable following in only six months of existence.

Here, he sits down with me for an hour-long interview to talk about his origins, his love of local politics and the dire need for political awareness among the people who call Dallas home.

All of this is accompanied by a mix from DJ Bomb Cat, who will be performing at this year's Lights All Night festival.

This is an episode you don't want to miss!
