Overview. Studio 22 is a versatile ballroom and social dance club designed to help the beginners, and the competitors, become their very best at whichever style dance fancies them.
With thirteen of the most experienced and professional dance instructors on staff, it's hard to not have an informative experience in whichever style you choose.
The studios owners, Sergey Korshunov and Michelle Hafle are ranked three-time U.S. and British Professional Rising Star Latin Finalists and have been featured on the popular TV show, Dancing With The Stars. Together they wanted to open a studio that not only has high-caliber dancers as the instructors, but dancers that are just as good at teaching a beginner as they are winning competitions.
Our instructor for Bachata Level 1, Adrienne Leeks, started off as a student at Studio 22 only five years ago. After three years of hard work, she joined the incredibly talented instructors that make up this highly qualified team.
“The instruction you'll get here is incredible,” Leeks says. “I think that makes a huge difference because you have people who are really knowledgeable about their art and can translate that information to their students really well.”
This program is for anyone looking to learn a step or two and unknowingly burn calories as you do so. Dancing is a fantastic cardiovascular exercise that keeps you energized, confident, healthy, and fit.
Class Structure. Short combinations are taught within each 90-minute class. Throughout the process of learning the steps, your partner will rotate every few minutes in order to, literally, keep you on your toes.
Getting Started. Personal training is also an option for those looking to move into a competitive level of partner dance. Private instruction isn't just available to competitors though; it's also available to couples with a wedding in their future that might want to brush up before their first dance.
Grade. Previous Body Movin' Grades:
Need to brush up on your dance skills before heading out to the club this weekend? Well you might want to stop into Studio 22 for their wide variety of partnered dance classes to learn a thing or two.
Each class begins by learning the names of each step at a slow pace to guarantee that everyone is on the same page. After you're warmed up is when you begin learning the moves with a partner.
If dancing with strangers isn't for you, Studio 22 also offers date night options on weekends for a fun and comfortable alternative where you stick with the dance partner you bring. This class is a way for students to stay practicing while they have a bit of fun with someone special. Weekend parties are always BYOB (except for red wine) so come out, loosen up, and do your thing.
