The Country’s Hottest Rappers Partied Into The Night At The 16Bars.XXX Rager On Friday.
Maybe it was the fact that, earlier in the day, Noisey had called “Dallas Has The Best Rap Scene In The Country That You’re Not Paying Attention To” and that the author of said piece was serving as the night’s host. Or, perhaps more likely, it was the smart booking of Travi$ Scott producer Metro Boomin’ to DJ the party that did it.
Regardless, the point is this: Some of the hottest up-and-coming rappers in the country — already in town to perform at JMBLYA earlier in the night — showed up to 16Bars.XXX‘s late-night bash, thrown in conjunction with Top Shelf Texas at Ash Studios near Fair Park on Friday.
No, it wasn’t the whole JMBLYA lineup, but it was damn close. Travis $cott, Vic Mensa, PartyNextDoor and G-Eazy all showed up to the spot, where they partied into the night alongside a starstruck crowd and a long list of local hip-hop luminaries. Among those locals: producer Cardo: DJ bemyfriend; two-thirds of The Outfit, TX; Blue, The Misfit; X, The Misfit; A.Dd+’s Slim Gravy; and most of the young Crit Life crew.
Even better? Scott took the opportunity provided by the party’s crowds to premiere a brand new track off of his upcoming Rodeo LP.
It all made for quite the scene, not to mention another fine feather in Dallas’ ever-increasing national rap profile. Yup: Pretty decent weekend, you guys!
Good thing our own Karlo X. Ramos was on hand to capture the madness for y’all’s visual pleasure. Check out his snaps below.
