We Hit The Streets To See What Dallasites Think of Post Malone's White Iverson.
Welcome to Aural Ambush, in which we take to the streets to see what the locals think of the music that's making us move here in the office.
Last month, in a The Fader piece about his meteoric rise, the Grapevine-raised, Los Angeles-based rapper Post Malone — who recently returned home to Dallas for a triumphant debut — was called “the most random success in rap,” which is maybe accurate, but also a little unfair because, out-of-nowhere as his success story has been, the rapper born Austin Post's music is actually pretty damn catchy and great.
Or, well, so goes our in-office opinion at least.
This week, once again, we hit the streets to see if the average Dallasite agrees or disagrees with our thumbs-up assessment of Post Malone's massive web hit, “White Iverson.” And what'd we find? Responses all over the map, from one superfan who already knew every word to one lyrically challenged stranger who thought the song was about breakfast foods.
Not sure where you fall on that spectrum? Hit play to find out, then maybe head here to catch up on the few tracks the up-and-coming Post Malone's released unto the world.
