We Hit The Streets To See What Dallasites Think of Leon Bridges' “Better Man.”
Welcome to Aural Ambush, a new video concept here on Central Track in which we take to the streets to see what the locals think of the music that's making us move here in the office.
Oh, Leon Bridges. Where to even start? The Fort Worth soul revivalist's just been everywhere of late — on The Late Late Show With James Corden, on stage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, in commercials for Beats by Dre headphones — and tonight, he'll continue his world dominance by taping an appearance for an upcoming episode of Later… with Jools Holland.
But are people here in Bridges' native North Texas up on this fast-rising star-in-the-making yet? We hit the streets of Lower Greenville recently to find out, ambushing unsuspecting locals by playing his “Better Man” song for them through a pair of headphones.
As if there was any doubt, most people were into what they heard, too. Or, as one participant put it to us about Bridges' song: “Shit goes hard.”
We tend to agree. Check out more reactions below.
