Let Midlake Show You Around Denton.
Back in September and in advance of their just-released Antiphon LP, the Denton-dwelling folk-rock heroes of Midlake, performed two nights of shows at Dan's Silverleaf, regaling in the reverence of their hometown fans and teased their crowds with tastes of their new material.
But the room was filled with more than just fans: On the second night of the band's stand at the venue, actor and friend of the band Jason Lee (Mallrats, My Name Is Earl) helmed the filming of some footage for an upcoming Midlake music video; on the first night, a separate crew was littered about the room, filming footage of the band to be used in a new web series called Off Main St., which focuses on musicians and the places in which they live.
Today, that half-hour Off Main St. clip made its premiere on Rolling Stone's site. It's just the second episode in the young series' existence (the first found crews following Tundercat around Los Angeles), but it's a clearly nice package all the same, as Midlake members tour the video crew around their hometown, showing off such haunts as Dan's, Recycled Books and their own Paschall Bar (among other places) as they do. It's a charming presentation, which was no doubt the aim here.
