Stress not, Mr. Sherrod, we’ve been keeping score.

Bassist Paul Alexander (with a little help from guitarist Eric Nichelson, keys man Evan Jacobs and multi-instrumentalist Jesse Chandler) is making dreamy, psych-tinged pop under the Bella Union-signed Two Medicine. Speaking of Chandler, he also revived a lost Bobbie Gentry classic with his long-running Mercury Rev project. Frontman Eric Pulido, meanwhile, recently put out one of our favorite records of Q1 as the schmaltzy indie-pop alter-ego E.B. The Younger.

As for the rest? Well, when not touring and/or making records with the likes of Elle King, Sharon Van Etten, St. Vincent and Israel Nash, to name but a few, Joey and Aaron McClellan, McKenzie Smith and Chris Holston have found time to revive their pre-Midlake straight ahead indie rock band The Fieros.

Ahead of a new album from the boys, the slick rock ‘n’ rollers have prepared a new single and lyric video for your listening pleasure – their first since 2012. The band, itself, traces its roots back to 2005, meaning this back-to-basics full-length really is a long time coming.

Fortunately, that wait has come to an end.
