You have found Growlersations! A growler is a 64-oz. glass jug used for taking beer home from breweries, and  BrainDead Brewing’s Sam Wynne and Jeff Fryman like to sit down every week and crack open a couple of them with a different guest or two. Typically focusing on North Texas restaurant and bar industry veterans, the conversation always gets a little better after a growler or two has been mixed into it.

And this week, we’re drinking it with the very talented local musician Jason Burt. Burt’s had a few promising projects over the years, but his current crew, Medicine Man Revival, has an edgy and contemporary twist on funky soul that really makes it stand out from the rest.

Before diving into our chat with Burt, we crack open a couple growlers and — in our defense — we warn Jason that this Double IPA might be kinda boozy. Still, he pounds his first glass, and we’re off to the races.

Now that he’s slightly boozed up, we talk about Medicine Man Revival’s show at the Granada Theater this weekend with Texas Gentlemen and RC & The Gritz, the Dallas music scene and, of course, some of the many wonderful people that make it a truly vibrant scene.
