If you’re feeling the Monday Blues, then shucks-a-roo.
But hey, there are some workarounds. You could of course just pump yourself full of coffee to get through the day or you could try out some tips that Forbes put together back in 2013 on how to get over the Monday Blues.
Among those tips are making a list of the things you’re excited about doing on Monday, make sure you get enough sleep on Sunday night and — a somewhat simple tip — try to have some fun at work. Other tips that you have to consider in advance are things like planning your Monday schedule on Friday and avoiding any work-related communications on the weekend.
So we hope you have a dope Monday today, Dallas. And if none of those tips work, then you should check out one of the following happenings so you can at least close Monday out on a high note.
Radio Moscow at Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill
If you didn’t know better, you might assume Radio Moscow was a ’70s-era jam band, a la the Allman Brothers. Though the group’s only been around since 2003, its material is considered “classic” rock. Hey, it beats hearing one more GD Zeppelin cover. Amplified Heat and Fogg open. — Cory Graves
Embracer at The Dirty 30
The Charleston, West Virginia band is fresh off the release of its latest album No Gospel, which dropped literally on New Year’s Eve. The band’s sound can best be described as indie rock with dark vibes that delve into setting a moody ambient.
Barry Kooda at KesslerX+
The KesslerX+ presents the work of the photography and visual art of the local musician and photographer. The exhibit runs through February 28.
Happy Hour at White Rock Alehouse Brewery
Enjoy some discounted eats and brews at one of hottest new spots around White Rock Lake. We took a look at this place a few weeks ago, in case you missed it. The food looks dope and you just can’t beat discounted food and booze.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat at American Airlines Center
It may be totally different rosters since the 2006 and 2011 NBA Finals, but it’s always a fun time when the Mavs take on the Heat. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
