All of your RoboCop fantasies are starting to come true on the other side of the planet as police in Dubai recently introduced robotic police officers to their force.
Instead of cleaning up the mean streets of New Detroit, the humanoid machines are mostly being deployed at shopping centers across Dubai at this point, where citizens can approach them and use their touchscreen chests to register complaints about small crimes.
So, no, it’s not exactly a half-human Peter Weller yelling “Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!” at hoodlums. But, hey, it’s a start down the line to our dystopian future!
