Ishi at Granada Theater (Free)
The Granada is continuing its week-long celebration of music with a plethora of free concerts. Gracing the Granada stage this Wednesday is a three-act lineup, including dance-poppers Ishi atop the bill, followed by Austin’s The Octopus Project and Son of Stan, who was on Jimmy Kimmel just last night. — Calvin Cashen
Black Pistol Fire at Cambridge Room
Austin-based rock outfit, Black Pistol Fire, sure knows how to get down and dirty. Musically, this duo tethers various sounds into a heaping pile of sonic fury. It plays The Cambridge Room this Wednesday, which should be interesting. The markedly larger Bomb Factory was barely able to contain these guys when they played Homegrown there last year. — CC
Shawn Mendes at Verizon Theatre
This Canadian singer-songwriter attracted a huge amount of attention when he began posting cover tunes on Vine. In a little over a few months, Mendes broke out with a massive Top 10 single and a record contract with Island Records. — CC

Dragged Into Sunlight at Three Links
The members of this U.K. doom metal outfit wear balaclavas over their heads and perform with their backs turned to the audience. This might sound a little counterproductive, but that’s the way Dragged Into Sunlight likes it. Though the members haven’t disclosed their identities, their distinctive crunch is instantly recognizable. Dragged Into Sunlight is a swirling descent into the apocalypse, capable of blocking out the sun. — CC

Hesh Law and Hampton Mills are known collectively as the Mutant Wave DJs — or at least they will be once their new weekly takes off. It gets going tonight with a lineup headlined by shoegazey, ’80s-mining synth duo Them Are Us Too. Also on the bill is Austin’s Missions, and locals iill and BATHHØUSE. — CG
