Our Favorite Cosplayers of A-Kon 27.
When it comes to anime conventions, it really doesn’t get much bigger than A-Kon. It’s a total trip: Every year, cosplayers meticulously plan out what they’re going to dress up as — only to then abandon everything at the last minute and stay up all night working on some new cosplay.
As usual, the 27th A-Kon, which took place at the Anatole Hilton over this weekend, offered a huge list of guests. The team behind popular web-comic Cyanide & Happiness were there. So too were the voice actors Cherami Leigh (Sailor Moon) and Jeremy Inmane (Dragonball Z). Even cosplay icons Yaya Han and Elffi were ambling about the grounds. It was a pretty insane lineup — one we won’t bother listing here for brevity’s sake, although you’re welcome to parse through it all for yourself here.
In turn, convention attendees had no shortage of activities to help them pass the time. There were art galleries, panels, meet-and-greets with the celebrity guests and dealer’s room filled with goodies. Still the best activity of all might’ve just been finding a place to sit and people watch.

Wanna see Darth Vader browsing through anime DVDs? You can do that at A-Kon. Ever wondered what it’s like to see Hulk Hogan shopping for a body pillow? Attendees at A-Kon needn’t wonder any longer.
Honestly, surreal doesn’t even begin to describe the whole experience. It’s something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
For now, though, we suggest you just scroll through these photos of our favorite cosplayers from the weekend.
