CiboDivino and The Truck Yard Keep It Classy With Weekend Wine Tastings.

Welcome to The Spread, our weekly feature that aims to share all the area restaurant, food and beverage industry news that’s fit to print. Except, this is the Internet, so space isn’t a concern. Also: Good thing, because this is Dallas and this town always has breaking restaurant news going down like whoa.

Depending on the context, being called a wino can be considered either a compliment or an insult. But the tastefully-offensive folks at Truck Yard don’t care which type you are, as they’re calling all winos for a summer wine tasting on Friday, June 3.

Per the official press release: “If the Truck Yard is anything, it’s a classy establishment of the highest order, HA! So it’s about time that a wine tasting took place. On that note, everyone’s favorite Lower Greenville bar is hosting a summer wine tasting. But don’t worry, you don’t even have to wear real shoes. This flip-flop friendly affair will include five tastings and a souvenir glass. But it’s not all fun and games (okay, yes it is), as attendees will be tasked with voting for their favorite to add to the menu. And amidst all that drinking and relaxing, a handful of local DFW-area artists will be selling their wares, because we know how much you fancy wine drinkers like your art.”

The event takes place from 4 to 7 p.m., with a cost of $15 admission at the door.

If a wino is somebody that really loves their wine, what do they call folks with a similar inclination towards coffee? Coffeos? We’ll workshop that one. Anyway, one thing we do know is that the only thing better than good coffee is good cheap coffee, and Method Coffee is celebrating its two-year anniversary with $2 coupons. Customers can receive the promotional offer via Facebook or email to use on any in-store purchases. The coupon is available now until this Friday, June 3.

Speaking of anniversaries: Up in Oak Cliff, CiboDivino Marketplace invites you to celebrate its one-year anniversary this Sunday, June 5. According to the press release, customers will be treated to complimentary glasses of Stemmari Wines and Italian snacks in honor of its first year of business. The event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m.

Moving on, Bread Winners Café & Bakery is setting up shop in Fort Worth. Per SideDish, the fourth outpost of the popular brunch spot will be located at University Park Village, with a decor similar to the NorthPark location and a patio for “al fresco dining.” No word yet on an official opening date.

Meanwhile, a new destination for tapas and tequila called Dos Jefes has surfaced in Uptown. The venture, located in the recently shuttered Nick & Sam’s Grill space, features a menu of Mexican-influenced sushi rolls, ceviche and premium cocktails. Hours run Wednesday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Finally, in craft beer news: Fort Worth alterna-faves the Toadies and Martin House Brewing Co. are releasing two new beers in honor of the 15-year anniversary of the Hell Below/Stars Above album. The brews, appropriately named after that 2001 album release, are made to complement each other. Per GuideLive, Stars Below is a raspberry soul ale, while Hell Below is a strong black ale. When combined in one glass, they become a new concoction appropriately dubbed Purgatory. The beers will debut on Sunday, June 26, with a Toadies concert at the brewery. VIP tickets go on sale Friday, June 3.

Then, on Saturday, June 4, Denton County residents can attend the Little Elm Craft Brew & Que Festival. The celebration will include live music alongside a selection of craft beer and barbecue. The event takes place from 4 to 10 p.m.

Also on that Saturday, the Flying Saucer Addison location is serving doughnut and beer flights. Starting at noon, $15 will get you four beer tastings and four mini doughnuts courtesy of Hypnotic Donuts. Similarly on the following day, LUCK at Trinity Groves is rolling out the June edition of its ongoing doughnut and beer flight pairings. Guests can attend the popular event at either 11 a.m., 1 p.m. or 3 p.m.
