With George Clooney and Julia Roberts signed on as stars and Jodie Foster sitting in the director's chair, Money Monster would appear to have a lot going for it! The trailers for the banking and media thriller certainly only added to the film's potentially tantalizing appeal.
Alas, I'm sorry to say, the film is just overwhelmingly average. It's a pretty standard thriller, and one that awkwardly sidesteps the serious economic discussions that The Big Short handled so well by comparison.
So where'd things go wrong? Along with my guest host for the week, Josh Ellis of Success magazine, I try to figure that out. We also talk about stocks, which is fun because we really don't know much about stocks.
But, hey, we do know lackluster movies when we see them.
