On Why We Learn The Things We Do As Children And What It’s Like To Work In The Bigs.
If you’re a listener of KTCK 1310-AM or 96.7-FM, you probably feel like you already know TC Fleming and Jake Kemp well. And if you’re not a listener of The Ticket? Well, whatever. You’re about to get real familiar with these two just the same through their own channel of this podcast called It’s Just Banter. Wanna hear past episodes? Right out the gate this week, we have some harsh words for anyone in our childhoods who decided calculus was more important for us to learn than how the components of a mortgage payment work — because there are still a lot of surprises in that mine field!
But that’s just a quick conversation. Or is it? From there, we move swiftly on to again pondering how misguided it was when people told us as kids that we could do anything when we grew up. Truth is, whatever you do, someone else is probably doing something better.
Are we just in bad moods this week? Maybe, but that’s how it goes sometimes. And it actually dovetails OK with what we had intended to talk about this week, which is universal basic income. It’s an idea that has some practical merits and satisfies some ambitious ideas about how to live our best lives.
In the second half of this week’s podcast, we talk to Harper Weaver, the host of a new podcast on our network. He’s a smart guy who knows a lot about baseball. And get this: He worked for an honest-to-goodness MLB team and has some real insights about the way that world works.
Listen in.
