Young Dallas Power Couple Sam Lao and Jeremy Biggers Basically Ran Dallas Culture This Weekend.

Individually, Dallas fashion designer/videographer/photographer/painter Jeremy Biggers and Dallas rapper/singer Sam Lao are among the city’s most compelling creatives. But add in the fact that they’re married, that this much creative energy is spilling out of one household, and their prowess gets a little mind-blowing.

This weekend, that much was on full display too, as Lao and Biggers combined to straight dominate Dallas culture on back-to-back nights — first through Lao’s celebration of her stunning new SPCTRM album at Deep Ellum’s RBC on Friday night and then at the Saturday opening of Biggers’ “New Art Show, Who Dis?!” showcase of his latest round of pop culture-checking paintings at Bishop Arts’ {neighborhood}.

Each well-attended affair showed well the coming-into-their-own talents of this couple of twentysomethings, as well as the excitement that their work duly elicits from their area peers, who jokingly referred to the weekend as “#BiggersWeekend2016.”

Also on display? Some actually not-gross PDA from the couple at the center of the action. Each half helped the other set up their efforts, and each was on hand to help celebrate the other’s output, and it was pretty damn adorable to see — #goals kinda stuff, even if I hate to type anything along those lines. More impressive: Somehow, neither of them passed out from exhaustion at any point during the actual events, far as we know.

Really, though: Lao and Biggers each individually and collectively pulled off something pretty great this weekend. See for yourself via the below photo set combining each of their events, courtesy of Karlo X. Ramos.8706_2
