This New Year's, don’t let your date pull a Jennifer Lawrence and go home “drunk and disappointed.” It's time to pull out all the stops to wow them and truly start the year off right.
Yes, this means ditching your drunk friends for a romantic night out.
Stop No. 2: Rise n°1 (5360 West Lovers Lane). Nothing against Uchi, but let's move on to Rise for dessert. Warning: If souffles aren't your thing, go elsewhere. Rise only does souffles, but they do them damn well and it's hard to find a comparable one anywhere else. Order up a chocolate souffle (or two) with a wine pairing to match, and enjoy each other's company in this cozy spot. You'll appreciate the warmth before our third and final destination.
Stop No. 3: North Star Carriage (1800 North Market Street). Before you scoff, remember that we are going ALL OUT tonight. This is New Year's Eve! You have to go big or go the hell home — and, yes, that means ending the night like you're pulling a page out of the Enchanted playbook with a romantic carriage ride. OK, so it's cold. Just pick up some hot chocolate on the way and have a blanket ready. It'll be the perfect excuse to cuddle up to your sweetie as you tour our beautiful city at night. You might even be able to catch some fireworks if you're lucky. Make sure to call and make reservations beforehand to keep the night flowing smoothly. Who knows? With all this going on tonight, you might be able to christen the New Year's with more than just a kiss at midnight.
