Let It Go.

Yesterday, North Texas experienced its first freeze of 2015. Welp, time to shut it all down and hide out inside for the next few months. And, if you're going to hibernate anyway, might as well go all out and do it in a weird grizzly bear sleeping bag.

But, actually, y'know what? You'd look kind of silly in that thing. What's more, you'd also look pretty silly if you didn't brave the cold at least every once in a while.

There's some great goings on you'd totally miss out on, anyway.

St. Louis' Foxing make the kind of '90s emo/post hardcore that's still a guilty pleasure for plenty of folks. Given its members' backgrounds as film students, the band's learned to add just enough cinematic flourish to its craft so that you won't have to feel all the guilty for attending this one. Tonight, that outfit opens for plus-sized emo collective The World Is a Beautiful Place & My Name Is Too Long To Fit Into This Blurb.

In case you missed him opening for Hozier last year, 25-year-old British model/singer-songwriter James Bay may not push too many boundaries with his rootsy, American-style music, but his whispery vocals proved interesting enough to land Tom Waits as a producer on one of his early EPs.

For the last 15 years or so, the bajillion lights used in the big, drive-through Christmas displays has helped make Prairie Lights something of a Grand Prairie holiday tradition. And before it officially opens this year, the mayor of GP will lead a five-mile bike ride through the display's Lynn Creek Park home, giving those interested a unique sneak peek.
