Coyote Ugly Comes Back To Town, And The Truck Yard Fills Its Ice Cream Void.

Also: Good thing, because this is Dallas and this town always has breaking restaurant news going down like whoa.

As if the Dallas-Fort Worth region didn't yet have enough breastaurants in its quiver, a branch of the infamous Coyote Ugly Saloon has announced that it is coming to Fort Worth. The bar-top-dancing, film-inspiring concept will be the third active Texas outpost (RIP, the long-gone Deep Ellum location), and is planned for the West 7th district, according to Eater Dallas. An opening is slated for early 2016.

Meanwhile, Henderson Avenue is home to a new European-style pub. The Skellig is the latest brainchild of Feargal McKinney (Old Monk, Blackfriar, Idle Rich) and it occupies the former J. Black's space. The concept features a menu with more traditional pub fare, like corned beef hash and crispy duck leg, alongside a selection of draft beers and alcohol, says the Dallas Observer. Hours run Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Saturday through Sunday from noon to 2 a.m.

Over in Deep Ellum, Planet Sub officially opens this Saturday, November 14. The Kansas-based sandwich chain features housemade bread, tortillas and Romaine wraps among its variety of signature creations. The restaurant will open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In other opening news, a new sweets spot called Motor Sisters Ice Cream is joining the Truck Yard family. The concept comes courtesy of the folks behind Fort Worth's Melt Ice Creams, with a theme of influential women from across history, per SideDish. Motor Sisters will be located in the former Carnival Barkers space. Look for an opening next month.

Also in that neighborhood, Greenville Avenue Pizza Co. is teaming up with Blind Butcher for a special Movember pizza. Per the official press release: “The 12-inch pizza starts with GAPCo's sauce, which is then mixed with Blind Butcher's mustard. From there, it's topped with mozzarella, Blind Butcher's bacon bratwurst and sauerkraut.” The pizza costs $20 and includes several perks. With each pizza purchased, $5 goes to the Movember Foundation, you get a voucher for a free Bullzerk T-shirt and a coupon for tea at Plum Yoga. The pizza is available through the end of November.

Also on the altruistic front, The Rustic is giving a free burger with the purchase of a Grapevine Craft Brewery beer to all former and active military personnel in honor of Veteran's Day. Just show your military ID to your server.

Also honoring vets is Community Beer Co., which is giving away a free pint tonight to those who've served during their Brewery Trivia night. Specialty beers will also be available for NTX Beer Week. Doors open at 5 p.m., with trivia starting at 7 p.m.

Staying on the beer front: Deep Ellum Brewing Co. — which celebrates its fourth anniversary today — is hosting a pint night at Ten 50 BBQ on Thursday, November 12. Per the announcement press release, the night comes in coordination with NTX Beer Week, and guests can receive $1 off DEBC brews and commemorative glassware. The event takes place from 5 to 9 p.m.
