T.I. And Nelly Have Each Already Spent $30K At New Dallas Strip Club V Live. Is That Weird?
Strip clubs? Dallas has a few.
But they don't usually make their way into headlines from that esteemed bastion of culture and news, TMZ. Usually, some spot in Atlanta or Miami is featured on the aforementioned site — or maybe even on the commendable and not-at-all-bad World Star Hip Hop.
No, Dallas hasn't had the pleasure of too much national media attention for its strip clubs in recent years.
Well, not until V Live came onto the scene, at least. The club, located 3094 North Stemmons Freeway and a spinoff from the brand's original Houston location, opened in September and features noted Dallas rap personality Mr. Hit Dat as its host. Perhaps most notable, though, is its Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous clientele.
Last month, T.I. made his way out to V Live. The real-life version of the “Booked on Phonics” sketch from In Living Color then went ahead and threw around at much as a reported $30,000 at the club. He also reportedly screamed “I love women” before doing so — a reference to that time he said that women can't be president because they make poor decisions. (T.I. has been to jail multiple times for making decisions one might describe as poor.)
Earlier in October, Nelly also made an appearance at the strip club when he was in town to grace the Rio Room with his presence. Interestingly, he reportedly spent about $31,000 at the strip club during his escapade.
That's about the same amount as T.I. Hmm.
V Live Dallas has two Yelp reviews so far. One of them, posted yesterday, lobbies an accusation that the club pays celebrities to spend money at the club — money that the club provides.
Not sure if this is true, to be honest. But if it is? Hey, good on V Live for thinking outside the box and getting TMZ love within a month of its opening. That's not an easy thing to do!
