Did you realize that yesterday was the day that Marty McFly traveled to in Back to the Future II? Oh, you mean that's all that anyone talked about on Facebook yesterday? Our bad.
Yeah, people were way into that shit. One guy even spent so much time thinking about what it all means that he developed a crazy conspiracy theory that the movie even predicted 9-11.
Now that the Back to the Future trilogy takes places entirely in the past, we can get on with our lives and start looking ahead. Here's a few things to look forward to doing tonight. And yes, you'll absolutely need roads to get to each and every one of these places. — Cory Graves
Lee Bains III & Glory Fires at Three Links
After opening for Diarrhea Planet at this venue last October, Lee Bains and his thick Alabama accent will kick this one off with an unmistakably southern brand of garage rock. For a guaranteed good time, take a shot of something stiff every time he jumps off the bass drum mid-song. War Party, The 1969s and The Thyroids open. — CG
Dogs on the Inside at Texas Theatre
Dogs on the Inside follows the lives of abandoned dogs and puppies being rescued and taken to their new foster home — a Massachusetts prison. Resulting in what most would consider unlikely friendships, these pups find comfort with inmates and vice versa. See, both have been looked over and ignored, feeling unwanted. Tonight Texas Theatre is playing a special screening of the documentary with directors Brean Cunningham and Douglas Seirup in attendance. — Diamond Victoria
Chris Stapleton at Gas Monkey Live
The Kentucky-bred Chris Stapleton moved to Nashville and almost immediately got a job songwriting here and there, supporting himself with odd jobs when the music business wasn't going his way. Stapleton has been a part of two bands in Nashville: The Steeldrivers and The Jompson Brothers. This year, he released his debut solo album, Traveller, which peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Country and Billboard charts. Bet you wish you woulda seen him at City Tavern back in April now, huh? — H. Laugh until Irish Red comes out of your nose as the brewery-set comedy series heads to Keller this evening. — CG
Dustin Ybarra at Hyena's Fort Worth (Free)
For its second season, Gotham added Dustin Ybarra to its cast as an Arkham Asylum resident with a taste for human flesh. When not playing a cannibal on TV, Ybarra gets his kick telling jokes. He'll be in town three nights, but only Thursday night's show is free. — CG
Leon Russell at The Live Oak
Leon Russell is a legend. He's responsible for a lot of classic material, namely the classic song, “A Song for You.” He's not just a guy who gave a song that nearly every singer from Amy Winehouse to Willie Nelson to Bobby Brown. Russell has even had the pleasure of doing a collaboration album with the Rocket Man, Elton John. Head out to Fort Worth to witness about the most intimate performance the legendary musician will ever do. — HDB
Art Houe Dalals' Fifth Anniversary Celebration at Life in Deep Ellum
To celebrate five years of “cultivating creativity for the commmon good,” Art House Dallas is bringing in a trio of artists to perform intimate, listening room-type sets at Life in Deep Ellum. Charlie Peacock, Andrew Ripp, Brooke Waggoner and Matt Wertz will perform solo sets while you politely shut the fuck up. Oh, and party. — CG
Rockitecture at Lone Star Gas Lofts
In short, this Art Deco-themed cocktail party and design-oriented silent auction will benefit the educational programs of the Dallas Center for Architecture. Lovers of art, architecture and travel with some extra cash laying around are encouraged to head to the recently-renovated Carlisle Room inside the Lone Star Gas Lofts. — CG

In what seems like an increasing trend, Adventure Club's seeds are planted in pop punk. Getting tired of the sound, or what the rest of us might call, “growing up,” Christian Srigley and Leighton James switched gears and started making an only slightly more mature genre of music — electronic. La Septima Banda y Banda Clave Nueva, Banda Clave Nueva at The Bomb Factory
Dallas' Univision station, 94.1-FM, is putting on an exclusive concert. It's gratis with a ticket, which you have to get by listening to the radio station. Two prominent bandas will be performing: La Septima Banda and Banda Clave Nueva. — HDB
Lianne La Havas at House of Blues
Prince played an intimate show at Lianne La Havas home in London. There's an indicator right there that she's the real deal. That's a hell of a cosign. La Havas crafts some sultry and beautiful acoustic soul. Her latest album Blood is a collection of sweepingly rich and expansive textures. Check her out at the House of Blues tonight. — HDB
Big Freedia at Cambridge Room
Big Freedia is, perhaps, the entity most responsible for twerking crossing over into the mainstream. Not Molly Citrus or whatever her name is. Freedia is the conduit before the wave really caught. She takes her regional flavor of twerk and New Orleans bounce straight to us. Hibou and Boyfriend open. — HDB
The Werks + Twiddle at Trees
A couple of jam bands hit up Trees tonight in the psychdelic-leaning Ohio group The Werks and the more prog-oriented Vermont outfit Twiddle. It's unfortunate that they dubbed their tour the Twerk Tour, though, given that the queen of actual twerking is playing just a few miles away. — CG
2015 Mavs Run This Town 5K at American Airlines Center
The annual 5K Mavs run is upon us. The race starts and ends on Olive Street in between the AT&T Plaza and W Hotel. The race is in support of the Mavs foundation and entrants receive a free Mavs ticket, a timing tag, a T-shirt and a chance to die because how do people fun five whole kilometers and not die? Saint Motel plays the free after-party. — HDB
