Can I Get A Hell Yeah?
How do you like your coffee? One lump? Two? The reason we ask is because, according to a study by the University of Innsbruck in Austria, people that prefer their coffee black are more likely to be psychopaths.
Just throwing that out there.
Anyway, crazy as it sounds, there's actually a lot of cool stuff going down this Monday evening. We don't have any scientific studies to back it up, but we present you with plenty of evidence below. — Cory Graves
Mac DeMarco at House of Blues
Currently, there's a whole wave of bands that sound similar, if not identical, to Edmonton slacker-turned-genius Mac DeMarco. With his poppy hooks and jangly guitars, it's no wonder Mr. Pepperoni Playboy is fronting the wave of indie pop music as we know it. And this is his biggest Dallas show to date. — Evan Henry
UB40 at Majestic Theatre
You can't help falling in love with UB40 — mostly because you're already familiar with most of the pop hits the band covers, even before it puts its drum machine reggae spin on them. For what it's worth, all the band's original members will be back for this tour. — CG
WWE Raw at American Airlines Center
Six months ahead of Wrestlemania XXXII's invasion of the AT&T Death Star, WWE's Monday night Raw hits the AAC. It's the final show before this month's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Brock Lesnar's “Go to Hell Tour” brings with it appearances from Texas-sprung wrestling legends The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, not to mention The Rattlesnake himself, Mr. Stone Cold Steve Austin. While Austin's only scheduled to be taping an episode of his podcast somewhere in the backstage areas of the AAC, I don't think the prospects of him chugging a couple of Budweisers from the top rope is completely out of the question. And that's the bottom line. — CG
First Hearings: Zachary Thomas Dodson at The Wild Detectives (Free)
Dodson's new novel, Bats of the Republic is equal parts historical fiction, adventure and dystopian sci-fi. Rather than just reading passages from it, though, he's put together a multimedia presentation that he'll perform tonight at The Wild Detectives. Stay, sip some coffee with the author and have him sign a copy of your book. — CG
