Shake Shack Gives In, Finally Announces An Uptown Dallas Location Set To Open in 2016.
Dallas does pretty well on its own when it comes to burgers. But, hey, there's always room for more — especially when it comes with as solid a reputation as New York's infamous Shake Shake.
This week, the celebrated Yankee burger-pushers announced plans for an Uptown location — so now Dallasites can see for themselves just how well the highly Instagrammed burgers and fries measure up to the competition.
This first outpost for the Dallas-Fort Worth region will come in Uptown's mixed-use The Crescent building, with an opening slated for 2016. Per the official press release: The lush park spaces and community-forward vibe of The Crescent® pair perfectly with Shake Shack’s heritage as a neighborhood park kiosk in New York City’s Madison Square Park. Today, Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day 'roadside' burger stand known for its 100% all-natural, antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers (no hormones added ever), griddled flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crispy crinkle cut fries and more. A fun and lively community gathering place with widespread appeal, Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world. Shake Shack at The Crescent® will be located under a verdant canopy of trees, the perfect spot to kick back with a delicious ShackBurger® and cold ShackMeister® Ale, just steps from a corner park complete with lawn furniture and bocce ball. The Dallas Shack will also be conveniently situated near downtown Dallas and a short walk to nearby Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Arts District.
With newer local heavyweights like Pints & Quarts or the never-ending debate of Whataburger versus In-N-Out, there's no telling just where Shake Shack will fit into the melee of burger slingers-in the area.
But if the long-standing exchange of New York and Dallas' influence on food culture is any consolation, well then ShackBurgers should be alright.
