So What?! Music Fest Adds New Found Glory, Bayside, Saosin and More to Ninth Annual Bill.
Just a few days removed from two weeks of Austin music festival spillover shows, North Texans are already looking forward to its next spoils of that ilk. And, for its part, formerly NTX-based Third String Productions is ready to deliver on that front.
Just this morning, the pop-punk promoters announced the second crop of acts performing at its ninth annual So What?! Music Festival, which takes place SXSW weekend, March 19 and 20, at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie.
The biggest gets? The “godfathers of (the second late 1990's wave of) pop punk” New Found Glory and Bayside will perform on the fest's opening night. Meanwhile, Saosin, newly reunited with original frontman Anthony Green, joins previously announced heavyweights Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada and Beartooth on the fest's second day.
Formerly known as South By So What, the 2016 incarnation marks the first year for the fest under its new name — a move that not only helps distance itself from that other event that'll be going down in Austin that weekend, but that also allows Third String to hold various incarnations of the event in places like Florida and California.
Tickets to the fest are currently on sale here, with prices ranging from $50 for single day tickets and $75 for weekend passes to $350 for VIP “Superstar” passes.
