Ever since those Star Wars promo toys were released, people have been scooping up remote controlled BB-8 droids, which they've mostly been using to terrorize their pets up to this point. As scary as they are, they're also pretty intricately designed.
We, for one, have spent quite a bit of time wondering how they work at all. It's really been eating at us, which is why we're happy someone finally shot a video of themselves cutting one apart so we could see the bot's inner workings.
It's a huge relief, if only because it means we can get back to more important things, like figuring out what to do tonight. And don't look now, but we've gone ahead and dissected tonight's offerings for you to save you a little time there, too. — Cory Graves
Technicolor Hearts at Double Wide
Austin psych-pop act Technicolor Hearts, claims that it is “An art project for lovers a discourse between friends, an interactive expression of memories, happiness and a celebration of life.” Hey, it's good for a band to have ambitions, right? Check them out, along with locals Lily Taylor and Mercury Rocket. — Stephen Young
The Atomic Bitchwax at Three Links
The Atomic Bitchwax is an interesting name for a band and is sure to offend a few people. The music though, is a little less offensive as the band takes some pointers from 60s psychedelia and prog rock. They headline this bill with MOS Generator, Against The Grain and Spacebeach rounding out the opening act duties. — H. Drew Blackburn
Hotel Broslin Presents: Uninvited at Rubber Gloves
Hoel Broslin is bringing us a bad and not good horror movie called Uninvited and yeah, sure you're invited. It's about an orange cat that turns into a mutant. Not exactly the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But, this will surely entertain. — HDB
Fight Club at Sundown (Free)
We're probably breaking the first rule of Fight Club just telling you about this free screening, so I guess we'll just leave it at that. There's nothing that says we can't tell you about Sundown's half-price whiskey specials each and every Wednesday, though. — CG
Wanz Funktion at Off the Record (Free)
Is Off the Record the most local music bar in town? Here, you can not only buy local band's albums, drink cocktails named after them, or watch them take turns behind the turntables, but you can help them pay medical bills in times of need, too. Recently, local musician, freelance writer and frequent Off the Record DJ Wanz Dover had surgery that will keep him out of work for weeks and, like many local musicians, he doesn't have health insurance. Tonight, fellow DJs Bryan Coonrod, Joshua Kynd, Mark Ridlen, Corey Adamson and others will be spinning records in his honor, collecting donations to help out their brother and showing him a little love, too. — CG
