A Definitive Guide To Every Dallas-Fort Worth Area Brewery Currently In Operation.

According to the Brewers Association’s annual growth report, craft beer is on the rise — to the extent that there was an 18 percent increase in the number of microbreweries operating in 2014 over the previous year. In Texas, though, the boom was even more major as our state increased to the tune of a 24 percent rise.

No wonder the Budweiser folks feel so threatened of late. Because, if it seems like new craft breweries are opening up all the time here in North Texas, that’s because, well, they pretty much are.

Next month, for instance, Intrinsic Brewing will open up in Garland, giving a few early backers a lifetime of free beer as they do. In the months following, a whole slew of others are set to follow suit, including Hemisphere Brewing in Rockwall and Steam Theory Brewing in Dallas.

It’s almost impossible to keep track of it all — although that hasn’t stopped us from trying. Here, we’ve compiled a list of all the pertinent details for North Texas’ 35 currently operating production breweries and brew pubs, including tour and taproom hours, plus some interesting factoids.

Rahr & Sons Brewing.
Address: 701 Galveston Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104.

Year-Round Brews: Rahr’s Blonde, Ugly Pug (black lager), Texas Red (amber lager), Stormcloud (IPA), Buffalo Butt (amber lager).
Tours: Wednesdays 5-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays 1-3 p.m. A $10 tour includes three pint samples and a complimentary glass. Specialty beers are tapped Wednesdays and food vendors are on site.

Fun Fact: The woman on the Rahr’s Blonde label is owner Fritz Rahr’s mother. She was second runner-up Miss USA in 1952.

Franconia Brewing Company.

Year-Round Brews: Franconia Koelsch, Franconia Lager, Franconia Wheat (hefeweizen), Franconia Kristall Weizen, Franconia Dunkle.

Fun Fact: Franconia is a green brewery, reusing 85 percent of the water that comes into its facility and sending leftover hops to a farm where it’s used to feed cattle. And because the brewery doesn’t produce waste or trash that will end up in a landfill, it doesn’t even have a dumpster.

Chimera Brewing Company.

Year-Round Brews: Plutoweizen (Dunkelweizen), Chimerica (session IPA), Pils in Your Pants (pilsner).

Fun Fact: Originally called Zio Carlo Magnolia Brew Pub, you may recall the incident in 2011 in which co-owner Carlo Galotto posted an F-bomb-laden rant about “spoiled Obama kids” on the pub’s Facebook page, catching the eye of publications like Forbes.

Deep Ellum Brewing Company.

Year-Round Brews: Deep Ellum IPA, Double Brown Stout (oatmeal porter), Deep Ellum Pale Ale, Dallas Blonde, Dream Crusher (double IPA).

Peticolas Brewing Company.

Revolver Brewing.

FireWheel Brewing Co..

Cedar Creek Brewing Company.

Four Corners Brewing Company.

Community Beer Company.

Martin House Brewing Company.

903 Brewers.

BrainDead Brewing.

TUPPs Brewery.
