According to new research, the key fighting off cravings for junk food when you're on a diet is to play a game of Tetris. Too much of your brain is simply taken over by the game, scientists claim, to continue thinking about food.
And it doesn't stop there: The same reasoning applies to fending off urges to drink or do drugs.
You might say, then, that we're kind of the opposite of all that. Per some other studies — ones that we, admittedly, just made up — continuing to read this post will increase your urges to get out of the house and have a little fun tonight, Monday night be damned.

Fair Park's DIY art space hosts three independent plays and an after-party featuring the tuneage of Rat Rios. The project's namesake, Samantha Rios also wrote one of the plays being performed beforehand. Some folks got all the talent. — CG
Street Fooder & Monkey King Pop-Up at Zoli'a NY Pizza Tavern
The pop-Up restaurateurs behind the brick and mortar-less Street Fooder concept are teaming once again with Deep Ellum noodle spot Monkey King to serve up some interesting dishes in Zoli's parking lot. Menu items include potstickers, ramen and Asian-inspired pizzas and hoagies. Just get there early, because Street Fooders' events tend to sellout quick. — CG
